Access Broadband, a business unit of QiComm Ltd, a telco and systems integrator, has been awarded a contract to provide broadband services to rural areas in the West Midlands. QiComm will build a network based on Fixed Broadband Wireless Access (FBWA) utilising the latest WiFi/WiMAX technologies.
The contract award made by the West Midlands Networking Company (WMNC), as part of Advantage West Midlands’ Regional Broadband Access Project (RBAP), which will provide the region with 100% broadband coverage. Richard E Zinkiewicz, QI Group Finance Director stated “we are pleased to be working with the WMNC to deliver affordable services that will strengthen communities and promote economic development.”
QiComm services will be provided directly to customers and offered on a wholesale basis to ISP's thereby enabling a wide choice for the end-user. ISPs will benefit form the new addressable markets created in these remote communities using QiComm’s economic and cost effective network solutions. |
